I’ve finally gotten around to editing hundreds of photos from the historic city of Plovdiv which is the second largest in Bulgaria. The city’s history can be traced back over 6,000 years making it one of the oldest settlements in Europe and it has gone through various rules – from Roman to Greek to Ottoman – remnants of which you can see all over its cityscape.
My time in Plovdiv was short but I got to soak in various aspects of its compact old town, meet locals and artists like Daniela and Tsvetana below, dig into some seafood, and wander around narrow alleyways and side streets with my eyes set upwards – looking at colorful Ottoman architecture that has survived for centuries.

Inget fel på grillat kött och sandstränder heller 🙂
The only thing better than the beautiful colors are the smiling faces. Your photos make every location THE place I want to go next!
Aww thanks so much Yoneco!
Wow! Breathtaking! Love the architecture and people seem warm and friendly.
Thanks Monica! They truly are.
