It’s okay to put on your oxygen mask first. Fro It’s okay to put on your oxygen mask first.

From ruling over women’s bodies and our choices, protecting guns that kill children, shooting up a gay club, ongoing wars across the globe, a pandemic, on the verge of recession, structural racism with no signs of quitting, greed, hate, intolerance, living amidst narcissism , all while trying to pour as much as you can into others and do the best you can in life…

It is 100% okay to put on your oxygen mask first.

FILLING UP -> TRAVEL WITH ME TO THE COUNTRY OF GEO FILLING UP -> TRAVEL WITH ME TO THE COUNTRY OF GEORGIA!
================================

I’m excited to be partnering with the incredible Girls' Guide to Paris @girlsguidetoparis to lead a small and intimate photography tour to the country of Georgia from September 7-14 with a focus on cultural connection, local tradition, and slow gastronomy - (LINK IN PROFILE)

Some of the highlights include listening to Georgian polyphonic singing and watching traditional dance, attending the ancient wine harvest festival, baking traditional bread with the “Dedas” (mothers), meeting local artisans and potters, making Khinkali (Georgian dumplings) in family kitchens as well as visiting some cultural icons and traditional markets, hiking to Gveleti waterfall, and so much more - (LINK IN PROFILE)

I can’t wait and hope you join me on this wonderful photography experience!

Book your spot today as we’ve got limited spaces and we want to make this photography tour as intimate, hands-on, and in-depth as possible.

When filling out the form, be sure to mention you heard about the opportunity directly from me.

I had some thoughts about #SwedenGate so I wrote t I had some thoughts about #SwedenGate so I wrote them for @nytimes @nytopinion

Sweden has a history of remarkably progressive public policy. But two things can be true at once.

The country, like many others, also has deep integration and inclusion issues that it must address. I often say that it is the most open society, run by the most private people...

I view #Swedengate as a blessing in disguise.

It’s an opportunity for a country I love to finally exhale, shed the self-imposed burden of perfection, take itself less seriously and acknowledge its weaknesses. That doesn’t mean it can’t proudly celebrate its strengths — but it means admitting to not knowing everything, and projecting to the world that there’s a lot that can be learned from others, as well.

Before I became a visual storyteller, I was a prog Before I became a visual storyteller, I was a programmer and system/solutions architect for 12+ years. So it was not only great to photograph Tech Week at Electrolux, which brought in lots of inspiring speakers discussing innovation and the future of work, but to also sink myself back into a very familiar world.

For @stockholmsbokhelg, it was wonderful to collab For @stockholmsbokhelg, it was wonderful to collaborate with both @fargmakeup and @bookshop_se to promote and discuss my internationally-acclaimed novel, IN EVERY MIRROR SHE'S BLACK @ineverymirror!

Special thanks to incredible journalist @palmirakmbenga for moderating our wonderful talk at the bookshop and to @iamayshajones of FÄRG Makeup for creating and holding space for us! 🤎

While we have four (4) international publishers so far, we still don't have a Nordic publisher yet and The English Bookshop keeps selling out of the English version 😉

One truly touching and humbling moment was finding out two women had come all the way from Finland to listen to my talk.

To everyone who came, thank you so much for your support 🧡❤️🖤

Next up, Brussels. Hope to see you at one of our book tour stops here -> LINK IN PROFILE
