So I’ve been rocking to the latest U2 album, No Line On The Horizon, which I reviewed over at Matador Goods.
Their new drop is lyrically solid with their first single “Get On Your Boots” being a sort of empowerment anthem –
get up, take charge of your life, and make something of yourself.
Shot in Lagos, Nigeria, these boots belong to a security guard taking a midday break to bask in the warm sun after a long, hard night of guard duty.

Really like your photo, and its inspiration in U2. The band’s got a great message. I blogged about Bono today here: http://damascusmoments.wordpress.com/2009/04/23/bono-god/
I love u2 BUT I only like one or two songs on this album. I think their best album in recent years was “all that you can’t leave behind”.
Julie – Thanks. I actually shot the photo from my balcony so I had to zoom in real tight.
Fly Girl – Love U2! The lyrics are powerful and the new album feels complete. They really took their time to complete it.
U2 is one of my favorite groups. Thanks for the heads up about their new album. That’s an interesting shot. I never would have thought they belong to a security guard. They look small and forlorn,
I really like the texture in this photo, Lola. The composition is so simple, but the boots are on a surface that looks like wood and then, when you look again, looks like brushed concrete. Really compelling!
