Be sure to check out the latest issue of Transitions Abroad’s Webzine – Focus: Africa and the Middle East.
Besides providing the magazine’s cover photograph of the little Nigerian girl with tiro around her eyes, I also wrote the following two articles:
– Volunteer Effectively in Nigeria: The Key is Thinking Grassroots
– A Glimpse into Nigerian Culture on the International Stage
What I love about this issue is that it provides more insight into West African culture. Other stories also cover countries such as Swaziland, Mozambique, Oman, and Morocco.

Thanks ladies! It’s always fun to write about one’s country.
Lily – TA is receptive to queries. Check your email!
Congratulations Lola that is AWESOME!!! I read all the articles & the photos just made me melt – those kids are SO cute! I believe Chinua Achebe was in town recently? Anyway love it. Is TA receptive to queries? Keep up the great work!
Congrats Lola! As always, I love your photographs and articles. The cover of TAzine in particular, is so beautiful. What a gorgeous girl and a stunning shot. Can’t wait to read (and see) more!
Excellent stories Lola! I looove the Nigerian culture article, Chimamanda and Fela are faves although I think British-Nigerian artists like Chiwetel Ejiofor (My all-time favorite actor), Sophie Okonedo, Chris Ofilli and Kween are also helping to spread the Nigerian presence. And the photos are stunning as usual!
