I heard about International Pillow Fight Day in Stockholm via Facebook about a week ago. So I grabbed my camera and headed down to Sergels torg at 3pm today. I’ll be posting a few select photos with captions on my Sweden.se photoblog next week, but in the meantime, here are just a few of my favorites (shot 200+ photos):

I live in Norway and I didn’t even know this was going on! Haha, looks like fun though, hope to check this out sometime 🙂
If that’s not fun I don’t know what is! 🙂
@Michelle – Definitely!
@Tope – Totally up your alley.
@Matt – Add it to your itinerary in a nearby city during your travels!
@Jen – Checked out your pillow fight shots as well. It looked like 3 times the size of Stockholm. What fun!
@Joshywashington – You always have the best one-liners
@dami – Free coffee and tea in case you exhausted yourself with all those pillows.
love the ladies with the hot chocolate/ coffee. were they selling it or was it free?
It is the La Tomatillo of sleep accouterments!!
Lola, this is great! I got feather-covered at the pillow fight in Los Angeles, and seeing these photos really brings home how internatinal International Pillow Fight Day is.
🙂
sooooooooooooooooo fun! I want to go!
nice shots!!!! wish i was there…this right up my alley 😉
SOOOO FUN!!!!!!
@Dan – Thanks. Loved that part too; that everyone pitched in and cleaned up.
@Heather – They usually have them in many major cities – http://www.pillowfightday.com
@Sohail – Thanks for stopping by! It really was so much fun. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud so many times. Just sheer joy.
@David – So true. A much-needed break from the news.
@Nisha – Definitely check your city on this list. They do it every year – http://www.pillowfightday.com
@Sandra – Tack!
Fantastic photos Lola!
Never heard of this festival. Such a decent, well behaved crowd. 🙂
Thanks for sharing it and now it’s in my bucket list. 🙂
sweet pillow fight. seems like it warmed ppl up. like the shots of all the pillows in the air. bits of color in otherwise greyscale cityscape.
Well, i was there yesterday, in fact I am there in the first picture as well 😀
crazy stuff !!! had an awesome time !
great pictures !!!
I’ve never heard of this event – great shots!
Amazing shots Lola, looks really fun.
I loved that they all helped clean up the place too.
@Candace – Absolutely. Just let me know when you’re heading over.
@Eileen – They cleaned up the whole place, picking up feathers and had planned it in advance via Facebook. Swedes and their “controlled” fun 🙂
Great shots! And the Swedes are so tidy with picking up the feathers! In Santiago we had one but no one had feather pillows, and if they had, I’m not sure they’d have tidied up afterwards. Ours was a flashmob. Was yours?
Lola, these pictures are fantastic. What a perfect moment to capture in Stockholm 🙂 I’d love to make it there for that one day!
