ITB Berlin Files: Focus on Africa

“Have you seen your countrymen?!” the guy repping Tanzania said to me. It felt more like a “Go see your countrymen!” command than a question.

“Where? Where?” I craned, looking all over. I didn’t know Nigeria was here. I’d flipped through the exhibitor list which was dauntingly huge, but didn’t seem to find them. Anyways, I was excited when he pointed out our large green and white banner. “There!”

As expected, the Africa section of ITB Berlin didn’t disappoint with vibrant colors, gyrating dancers, food samples, and wide grins. Clichéd or not, I didn’t want to leave the hall.

My favorites? The ladies from Uganda dancing up a storm.
