Bremen - Germany - Lola Akinmade Akerstrom

I’ve been away for most of August on a much needed break in Spain as well as to attend some family engagements (wedding!) in Nigeria. Spending time away from my desk with my loved ones is always that quick realignment I need to refocus on what’s important and what really isn’t.

Like I’m beginning anew.

So I’ve come back refreshed and refocused with my 2015 focus word. Wanted to share a few quick updates on what’s going on on this end workwise.

Writing + Photography

Here are some of my latest work news.

ELLE Decoration (South Africa)

ELLE

I worked on a major photo spread covering Lagos, Nigeria, for ELLE Decoration including an author interview. You can view the full layout here.

Other articles include:

Just finished editing photos from Bremen and I’ll be writing a piece this week about Bremen as part of the #JoinGermanTradition campaign.

Upcoming articles – Several for Sweden.se, KLM Airlines, National Geographic Traveler, Duty Free Magazine

Speaking Gigs + Interviews

I’ll be speaking at the upcoming TUR Stockholm travel trade show about our collective, Nordic Travel Bloggers (NordicTB) and mutually beneficial ways of working smartly with bloggers.

Was also interviewed for and contributed to the major Canadian newspaper Globe and Mail article on how to explore Scandinavia on a budget.

Partnerships + Projects

NordicTB has hit the ground running with some campaigns coming up and about a dozen more proposal ideas in the works. This is an exciting time for us and we’re open to partnerships and projects that will raise the profile of travel blogging and real-time storytelling as a serious and innovative way of working with destinations and brands in the Nordics.

Starting this week, I’ll also be working as a freelance writer-editor/consultant for a major Nordic company. This will help better streamline my freelancing so I am working smarter, not harder.

It will also free up some time to get projects off the ground as well.

Hope you guys are doing wonderful. What are you working on these days and how can we work together?
