So I’ve been having open studios every few months in Stockholm. These are portrait sessions for my Intimacy Project where I invite people to sit for two straight-on shots.
In a nutshell, the project aims to prove what I’ve intuitively felt for awhile. The positioning of the eyes in a photo changes not only its overall mood, but the feeling of focus and connection with the subject. Since I focus a lot on environmental portraits of strangers during my travels, how I position them – elevate them in the photo – through their eyes subconsciously elevates the subject for the viewer as well.
Here are the latest batch of images. You can read more about my project here as well as see the side-by-side comparisions to date.
