Based on Eric Magassa's @ericmagassa exhibition "Heartbeat/Drumbeat" at Örebro Konsthall, you have the chance to learn more about the theme of interaction between contemporary art and literature. Lolá Ákínmádé Åkerström is a best-selling author, sought-after speaker and award-winning photographer, based in Stockholm, whose stories have touched readers all over the world. She is behind the travel book “Due North”, the best-selling book “LAGOM: The Swedish Secret of Living Well”, translated into 18 languages, and the internationally acclaimed novel “In Every Mirror She’s Black”. This spring, Lolá Ákínmádé’s first standalone novel, Bitter Honey, was released. A gripping novel that spans four decades and three continents, where a mother-daughter relationship is at the center. Through their eyes, Ákínmádé explores themes such as resilience, relationships and the profound power of fully wearing your skin and creating your own place in the world.
