Presentation 2 – Developing lasting relationships with local tourism boards

Here’s the second of two presentations – Developing lasting relationships with your local tourism board – I gave at the superbly run inaugural Travel Blogger Elevator conference in Genova, Italy. Will definitely write a follow up blog post.

  1. @Brandon – You’re very welcome!

  2. Lola, this is fantastic! Thank you for turning me onto it. I am contacting my local tourism board right now!

  3. @Angela – Thanks for sharing your thoughts as well. Definitely arrange something with your local tourism board. They need to know who you are and you might be able to help get them organized! And do keep me posted on how it goes with the board in Sardinia 🙂

  4. Lola, this is very interesting. I travel so often that I don’t spend a lot of time in my hometown, but when I’m here I can try to arrange something with tourism board, which is very badly organized here. I have been researching really in-depth where I live, but all alone and through my acquaintances, really only help by friends, old and new. Your presentation is very eye-opening, I’m not good at marketing myself, but I’ve developed such a deep knowledge on Sardinia that I feel I really know what to ask and what to look for. I’m actually doing some travel-related projects already, such as going to schools and talk to students about my travels, and I’ve had great feedback. A student even told her teacher she absolutely wants to know how to become travel blogger/writer like me, not sure I’d recommend her this, but I won’t tell her as yet 😉 I’ll sure try to approach some tourism board both here and in other destinations I go more often, hopefully we’ll end up working together and have the results you list in your presentation!
